Summer Hours
Under this temporary seasonal calendar, the museum will expand its operations to include Tuesdays, but will remain completely closed on Sundays and Mondays. Families planning their upcoming summer vacations are encouraged to review these schedule changes to make the most of their visit.
JULY CALENDAR
The Children's Museum of Greater Fall River is open Tuesday–Saturday in July, with special crafts like Paper Plate Flags and Fireworks Salt Painting around the 4th, plus Ocean Exploration Week (7/14–7/18). The museum is closed July 4th, 5th, 6th, and every Sunday/Monday. Pop in for hands-on activities all month, from Puffy Paint Ice Cream to Paper Tube Stingrays!
CELEBRATE AMERICA'S 250TH WITH THE CHILDREN'S MUSEUM OF GREATER FALL RIVER
The Children’s Museum of Greater Fall River is hosting a special event on Friday, July 3rd, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM to celebrate America's 250th anniversary. Guests will receive a holiday discount of 250 pennies ($2.50) off standard general admission, which is regularly priced at $10.00 per person. The celebration features a Bubble Show with Tony Mederios, face painting with Glitterrissa, outdoor games, fourth of July crafts, and free giveaways while supplies last.
PUFFY PAINT ICE CREAM
This sweet summer workshop invites children to create a textured Puffy Paint Ice Cream craft. The hands-on session allows young visitors to explore their creativity by mixing shaving cream and glue to form realistic, fluffy ice cream scoops.
PAPER PLATE WATERMELON
This sweet summer workshop invites children to create a textured Paper Plate Watermelon craft. The hands-on session allows young visitors to explore their creativity by piecing together paper plate halves, green rind borders, and small black seeds.
PAPER TUBE STINGRAY
This ocean-themed activity invites children to get creative by making their own cute stingrays using paper tubes and construction paper. It offers a fun, hands-on opportunity for kids to build artistic skills while crafting a unique marine animal to take home.
AUGUST CALENDAR
Get ready for a month packed with creativity and outdoor exploration during our August 2026 season. Young creators can drop in every Tuesday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm to enjoy themed arts and crafts like Fork-Painted Bears, Cotton Ball S'mores, Fingerpaint Firefly Jars, and Cotton Ball Painted Campfires. Do not miss our exciting Wildlife Week from August 11th to August 15th, plus a special Free Admission Day on Thursday, August 27th!
FORK-PAINTED BEAR
Transform a simple paper plate into a fuzzy forest friend using everyday plastic forks. Young creators will love stamping out a textured, paint-covered bear mane before gluing on googly eyes and cute pink ears. Come get messy and bring a smiling masterpiece to life!
COTTON BALL S'MORES
Layer fluffy white cotton balls between brown paper cutouts to build a squishy, realistic backyard campfire treat. Young creators will love drizzling puffy dark paint over the top to look like melted chocolate. Come get messy and stack up a sweet summer masterpiece!
FINGER PAINT FIREFLY jar
Dip tiny fingers into bright yellow paint to leave glowing streaks inside a paper mason jar. Little creators will love adding black ink details to transform their bright paint splats into a swarm of twinkling summer fireflies. Come catch some magic and light up your own backyard masterpiece!
COTTON BALL PAINTED CAMPFIRE
Stack textured paper logs together and pull fluffy cotton balls into dancing smoke clouds. Young creators will love dabbing vibrant red, orange, and yellow paint over the display to bring a glowing backyard blaze to life. Come gather around the craft table and spark a sizzling summer masterpiece!
CMGFR BINGO 2026
The Children's Museum of Greater Fall River is hosting its 3rd annual Bingo Night on Thursday, October 22nd, at the Fall River Elks Lodge #118. This 21+ event costs $30 for 12 games and features prizes, snacks, and a cash bar. Doors open at 6:00 PM, with games beginning at 6:30 PM, and tickets can be purchased online at cmgfrbingo2026.givesmart.com.
